Issue 12

Do It Scared. Do It Called.

Let's go ahead and snatch the excuse right out of your mouth.

You're not stuck. You're scared.

And fear has been playing in your face long enough.

Fear Is Loud — But It's a Liar

Fear will have you rehearsing failures that never happened. It will make you shrink while God is trying to stretch you. It will convince you that you're unprepared for rooms you were born to walk into.

Here's what fear actually does:

  • It writes worst-case scenarios God never approved

  • It makes you stay small, stay silent, and stay stuck

  • It disguises itself as wisdom when it's really just avoidance

Faith says something different. Faith says God is in the room. And Joshua 1:9 says He commanded you to be strong and courageous — not because the fear isn't real, but because His presence is more real than the fear.

God Never Asked You to Be Fearless

He asked you to be faithful.

You won't always feel bold. You won't always feel ready. You won't always feel qualified.

Do it anyway.

Half of purpose is doing things while your voice is still shaking. Your feelings don't get to pick your calling. Philippians 4:13 says you can do everything God called you to do through Christ who gives you strength — not through confidence you manufactured on your own.

So if your hands are shaking? Good.

If your stomach is doing backflips? Even better.

That's exactly when God says move anyway.

Failure Is Feedback — Not the Finale

You don't grow by winning. You grow by learning.

Every setback God allows is either direction, protection, or preparation for what comes next. The problem is fear convinces you that one failure is the whole story. It's not.

Ask yourself:

  • Where have you been rehearsing a failure in your head before you even tried?

  • What have you been calling "not the right time" that's actually just fear with better vocabulary?

  • What would you do right now if you knew failure was just information and not identity?

Practical Ways to Do It Scared

You don't need a confidence breakthrough to take the next step. You need obedience.

Here's where to start:

  • Say it out loud: "I'm called even when I'm nervous." Confession shifts your posture before your feelings catch up.

  • Break big goals into faith-sized steps. You don't have to see the whole staircase. Just take the next step.

  • Surround yourself with people who push purpose, not fear. Who you process with matters.

  • Give yourself permission to be a beginner. Expertise comes after action, not before it.

Your Obedience Is About to Embarrass Your Fear

You've been waiting to feel fearless. But God has been waiting for you to move.

Fear is loud but it's not Lord. Feelings are real but they're not your ruler.

Your calling is grown. Your purpose is ready. And your next level is waiting on one thing — movement.

Stop overthinking. Stop delaying. Stop negotiating with the part of you that wants to stay small.

Do it scared. Do it called. Do it now.
